Structural Reliability
PDH

Program Overview

This course is intended for practicing Civil Engineers who are interested in the assessment and evaluation of the safety of various types of structural components and systems such as Bridges, Building, etc.

Who Should Attend?

Practicing Engineers and Architects from various design and consulting firms, Federal, State, and local highway engineers involved in the analysis, evaluation, and design of various types of structures. A background in basic structural analysis and design procedures is recommended.

Skills You Will Acquire

The course covers the elements of probability theory and its application to structural engineering, statistical distributions of load components and resistance parameters, probable strength of structural elements, safety analysis and reliability prediction of structural systems, and code calibration process of reliability-based design codes, and application of various probabilistic methods in future predictions and assessment of remaining life.
