Steven Ortley

Mr. Steven Ortley is a marketing strategist with Weber Shandwick, an integrated marketing consulting agency which is part of The Interpublic Group one of the big four global advertising holding companies (NYSE: IPG) in their New York City headquarters. Weber Shandwick is the world’s largest marketing consultancy specialized in providing strategic counsel and program execution services that span the communications and marketing disciplines. Within the technology sector, his experience ranges from marketing communications, media relations and issues management to interactive and emerging media, advocacy advertising, market research and visual communications.

Mr. Ortley is also a Fellow at the Rutgers University BEST Institute. At BEST (Business, Engineering, and Science & Technology) his role is to provide strategic marketing counsel to commercialize Rutgers University’s IP offerings through new startups, licensing agreements and strategic partnerships.

Mr. Ortley began his career in marketing consulting 3 years ago and today has achieved a variety of experiences guiding multinational corporations including Microsoft, Amdocs, Clear Channel, Honeywell, Best Buy and Gannett as well as guiding the launches of smaller companies such as iBiquitiy Digital Corp. (HD Radio), Velti, PointRoll and clean-tech start-ups Envirofit and Amyris Biotechnologies. Mr. Ortley holds a B.A. in Political Science and Journalism from Duquesne University and is currently finishing his M.B.A. in SCM and Marketing Science from Rutgers Business School.
